Inspiration from Joel Osteen

I receive these daily email from Joel Osteen and normally forward them to family members & close friends. This is something I've been doing for awhile and the first person I normally would send them to is my Mom. 

Well last year, she decided to subscribe and receive the emails herself. I was very happy when she told me she subscribed. Eventually, I stopped forwarding her the emails. 

My mom is an early bird so this morning she checked her emails and read this and forwarded to me. I just wanted to share with you all because it's very inspiring. 

The message is definitely inspiring to me because I've recently "Stepped Out the Boat" and took on a new job, totally trusting God. Having my mom forward me this is inspiring as well because I know she's still reading these daily emails and pursuing her relationship with God.

I read this email this morning and truly felt the need to share with you all. It hit home for me in so many ways. Have you ever felt you needed other people to validate you? I definitely have. This post reminded me that all I need is God. If I listen to HIS voice 1st, he'll order my steps. BNspired today to discontinue wavering on what you should do or what you shouldn't. Talk to him and trust him. Other people shouldn't set the limits on your life. You set your limits and trust in God and watch the doors he begin to open. I personally have gone through this recently which is why it really hit home with me today.

It was very interesting to me because I'm someone who constantly write out goals for myself. This book challenged me in so many different ways. I really hope you will take some time to read it. It's definitely a page turner!

Pastor AD Daily Inspiration

I received this text yesterday and definitely wanted to share it with you all. Do you actually speak life over yourself? Do you speak life into certain situations? Do you know what speaking life over yourself is? Check out the song below! Every morning I speak life over my day. I try to positively affirm myself. It does make a huge difference. Things I was speaking life over months ago are finally coming to pass. For example, here is what I say out loud when I get to the office everyday.

"Today is an incredible day! Success, prosperity, and abundance in many different forms have naturally found their way into my life today. So I came across this very OLD post on IG from a good friend of mine. I felt so much conviction when I seen this picture that I had to share it with you all. Have you ever been like the man in the top picture? I can honestly say that I have many times. At certain points in my life, I would find myself constantly asking & pleading for God to talk to me, give me a sign, SOMETHING, etc.. Looking at the picture below forced me to come to grips with the fact that I wasn't constantly seeking him through his word. Reading the bible isn't something that's entirely easy to do but it's definitely something we have to be more conscious about doing. I'm really talking to myself in this moment. BNspired to start this new journey of faithfully reading your bible daily. He speaks to us in many different ways but one way for sure is through his word!!

Patience

Here is one of my nightly devotions from the other day. Definitely much needed. We all get a little impatient at times.

As children it is very difficult to sit for 15 minutes because it feel like forever. Yet, with age comes the rapid speed of passing time. When it comes to waiting on the Lord why does it feel like we are children all over again? Then, when the waiting is over, God produces an unexpected and undeserved outcome and the waiting becomes insignificant. If you find yourself in a period of waiting for the Lord, gather your patience & know that He is working FOR you.

I seen this post on Instagram this morning and really felt the need to share it.

 Everyone talks about being GREAT. "I Want To Be Great", "I'm Just Trying To Be Great", "Would You Let Me Be Great"... We all hear and say these things all the time right? When you wake up with a GRATEFUL mindset and attitude, it will set the tone for your day. BNspired to wake up with that spirit. Be Grateful for everything you have and get to do. Think about this.... Complaining is easy. Going through the motions is easy. Having a bad attitude is easy. Being impatient is easy. Worrying is easy. Stressing is easy. Nothing GREAT will ever come easy. Take this first step to being GREAT by being G R A T E F U L for everything! Every person in your life, every interaction with someone, every situation, EVERYTHING!

Day 3 of Proverbs31Challenge!

Here are my favorite verses from Chapter 3 of Proverbs. Some translations says "Seek his will in all you do and he will show you which path to take" or "Acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths" 

I wanted to define "seek & acknowledge" so we can actually see what those words mean.

Tripping 7 Times

Your passions come from God. If you follow them, you will always get back up after a fall. If you follow path devoid of passion, not only are you ignoring God's message to you but you are likely to fall quickly and permanently. Are you working on things that you're truly passionate about? Maybe it's time to curate the list of projects you're involved in. 

FastFoward Day 10

Yesterday was definitely a tougher day on this fast journey. I found myself talking to God on my way home and let out a ton of frustration with things I've been dealing with. When was the last time you spoke to God and truly vented your frustrations? What did you say? What was your tone? Did you feel better afterwards? 

Those are just questions to think about. I honestly haven't had a conversation like that with God in a long time. It was long overdue, that's for sure. My tone wasn't that pleasant either. I think it's important to always go to God and be 100% real with him. He already knows everything little thing about us, including our thoughts and feelings.  BNspired to do the same. Today has been a much better day than yesterday and I honestly believe he is about to open my eyes to so much.

Lately I've been reminding myself of this!Whatever season you're in right now, remember that God is in it with you. He will never call you to something, he won't be there to help you through!

I also received this text message this morning and it truly inspired me. God is definitely speaking to me in so many ways as I intentionally draw near to him. This verse was something I truly needed to read and be reminded of. As humans sometimes we can get so down on ourselves when things go wrong or we can start to  second guess ourselves in different situations. This verse was literalGod telling me "Jaz relax, I'm with you and you are doing fine. My favor has always been on you and it is still on you. Don't lose your confidence, you're doing fine." I needed that. I hope this post inspires you and give you hope with whatever you're dealing with!

Day 3!

Just came across these verses and felt the need to share. Day 3 has been a little tough but I'm glad I came across this word. No matter what comes my/your way, remember to continue to trust In the Lord with All my/your heart and not lean on my/your own understanding! 

Day 2

Yesterday was another successful day on my fast journey. I wanted to share a few bible verses and things I did. During my 1 on 1 time, I came across Psalms 107. It's so much inspiration and hope in that chapter but some of my favorite verses were 10-15. 

It says, 

"Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. “ lord , help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. Let them praise the  lord  for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them."

I was so inspired and blessed from that. During this first week, I'm also fasting from television. I try to look up different sermons on youtube or online to watch and last night I came upon a sermon by Heather Lindsey titled "Overcoming Toxic Emotions". It was definitely helpful hearing everything she had to say. BNspired to check it out here. 

Day 1 of FastForward

Today has been a pretty good day. I have known that I needed to fast from things for awhile now. It was just a feeling of separation or disconnection with God that's really lingered with me. I chose to ignore that feeling for months until today. With December being the last month of 2014, I really feel the need to reconnect and work on my personal relationship with God. I need to finish this year out strong spiritually more than anything. Tonight I was able to really vent to God about different things that has been frustrating me. Thank goodness my mom gave me this journal. It will become a very therapeutic way for me to get things off my chest and communicate with God. I wanted to share a key verse I came upon tonight. 

Pslams 42:5 " Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior" 

Have you ever felt like this? I have, and I definitely was able to relate to this tonight. No matter how I/you feel lets continue to put our hope in God. He knows what's best for us.

I received this text yesterday from a friend and it truly was RIGHT ON TIME! Isn't that just like God? He's always right on time and normally uses people to show that. I really needed to see and read this yesterday with everything I'm dealing with. The funny thing is my friend Z & I haven't talked in awhile and out the blue she sends me this. Shrek The Sheep

Came Across This Article This Morning & It Blessed Me. I Hope It Does The Same For You!

This is Shrek the sheep. He became famous several years ago when he was found after hiding out in caves for six years. Of course, during this time his fleece grew without anyone there to shorn (shave) it. When he was finally found and shaved, his fleece weighed an amazing sixty pounds. Most sheep have a fleece weighing just under ten pounds, with the exception usually reaching fifteen pounds, maximum. For six years, Shrek carried six times the regular weight of his fleece. Simply because he was away from his shepherd.

This reminds me of John 10 when Jesus compares Himself to a shepherd, and His followers are His sheep. Maybe it’s a stretch, but I think Shrek is much like a person who knows Jesus Christ but has wandered. If we avoid Christ’s constant refining of our character, we’re going to accumulate extra weight in this world—a weight we don’t have to bear.

When Shrek was found, a professional sheep shearer took care of Shrek’s fleece in twenty-eight minutes. Shrek’s sixty pound fleece was finally removed. All it took was coming home to his shepherd.

I believe Christ can lift the burdens we carry, if only we stop hiding. He can shave off our ‘fleece’—that is, our self-imposed burdens brought about by wandering from our Good Shepherd.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
