One Thing I Do Know!

So Much Hope, Inspiration, & Encouragement in these 2 vereses!

FastForward Experience

The 21 Day FastForward was a Great Experience for me! This was my first time fasting from anything for God and I'm So Glad I Did It. I've never prayed so much in my life lol. It definitely wasn't easy but it was well worth it.

I decided to fast from social networks, rap & RnB music, sweets, as well as sodas or juice. I drunk nothing but water for the entire fast. The 1st week I also decided to fast from watching tv. This was pretty tough but it was the closest I ever been to God & his word. The last week I also decided to do the Daniel fast which is where you only can eat vegetables & fruit. This was definitely the hardest part of the fast. I wanted to give in sooo many times but I relied on prayer and it definitely worked.

I did have a couple(2) slip ups during the fast but I'm just thankful that despite my shortcomings God still loves me and shows me his POWER daily. I was able to see God move not just in my life but in my family life as well! These are the prayers I prayed consistently on the Fast. I wanted to put them up just incase you might want to pray them yourselves. I'm Thankful Pastor A.D. inspired me through his teachings and word to do this because it has helped me grow even stronger in my faith.

Galatians 6:9

This verse keeps me going, especially while I've been on this fast. It definitely hasn't been easy, but I'm determined to finish it strong!

This Quote Helping Me Everyday!

S/O to Pastor A.D.

Morning Devotion

My morning devotion spoke so much life to me today. God speaks to us in different ways and one way is through his word! This is what it said.

"Do you feel like you are walking in the wilderness? Are you directionless & not feeling equipped to handle the journey? Reflect back on your life & recall times when God provided for you. There's always a pattern. God will give you exactly what you need at the exactly the right time you need it. Remembering this truth will give you strength on your wilderness walk. If you feel exhausted, inadequate, or helpless today, look for God's sustenance. Sometimes it comes in the smallest way."

One of the best things a person ever told me was "Don't worry about things you can't control". This person is the best coach I've ever had & someone I still look up to a ton today. I'm thankful she told me this at the time she did. It has stuck with me every since.

Grinding It Out

I'm an assistant basketball coach at Samford University. Today before we started practice, our head coach said something that really stuck with me. He talked about the importance of our team "Grinding It Out" throughout games and practices. It's really a good theme for our team to buy into as we go into this conference stretch.

What made this "Grinding It Out" phrase stick in my head was how it relates to our walk with Christ. I'm currently on a 21 day fast, which is my 1st time fasting ever, & I'm on day 5. I'm continually realizing the importance of "Grinding It Out" not just on the fast but in my life in general. So you ask, what does "Grinding It Out" for God consist of?
For 1, spending time with him daily, praying , talking & listening to him daily, getting into his word daily, mediating on his word daily, attending bible studies, attending church, tithing, etc...Yes ALL those things are how you "Grind It Out",  BUT most importantly I'm continuing to learn that Believing & Trusting in him 100% every single day is the ULTIMATE GRIND!
So I just want to encourage and inspire you all to "Grind It Out" for the God. It's Well Worth IT!

Inspirational Quote of the Day

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

Jonathan McReynolds Lovin' Me

I just came across the POWERFUL song & it brought me to tears. Definitely my testimony! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Now I'm nowhere close to a perfect man
And it takes a supernatural love to even understand
That beyond the walls behind, the mask and confident smile,

Was a broken man trying to grow up and make life worthwhile,

(Chorus 1)
And I know there were times that you probably Shouldn't,
But I thank you for always Lovin' me
And I know anyone else they probably wouldn't,
So I thank you for always Lovin' me

(Verse 2)
Now I know there were days I looked at myself,
I felt like less of a person compared to everyone else,
What about this flaw to big to small, can I exchange?
And trying to make-up for where I fell short, I let sense slip away

Though I know I don't have everything that it takes
you keep Lovin me(Lovin' me)

And regardless of every mistake that I make, you keep(Lovin' me)
And it probably don't matter what I do or say, you keep(Lovin' me)
And even with the pimples on my face, you keep(Lovin' me)

And when my friends walked away,
Lord I want to thank you for lovin me
When my own family wrote me off, Lord I thank you for lovin me
And when I can't even love myself, Lord I thank you for just lovin me
Oh, Inspite of me, Lord you keep lovin me
Lord I thank you for always lovin me

Only A Fool Repeats

This was one of my devotions tonight on the app "Devotion". I strongly encourage you to go download it ASAP!

"Our body vomits when it rejects food. There are habits & behaviors that we form that are not healthy. Even after recognizing the unhealthiness, we still return to those behaviors. A faith with Christ requires us to continually renew & better ourselves. Are there any foolish behaviors you continue to return to even when you have already rejected it??"

Have you ever did something you knew was wrong? I know I have! Did you continue to do the same thing over & over? We all fall victim to this at some point in our lives, BUT I Thank God for his Grace! Just know he will ALWAYS be there with welcoming arms for you no matter how foolish you are or what foolish things you've done. I can vouch for this! He Loves us UNCONDITIONALLY & ALWAYS.

FAST FORWARD 2013

I'm so glad to share with you all this new Journey I started today. This past Sunday while I was in North Carolina for work, I was able to watch a sermon via ustream by Pastor Adrian Davis in Huntsville, Al. The sermon was actually about 3 weeks old, but I just needed to hear a word. Ironically, God led me to that website and that particular message. I got a ton out of word he preached about but the main thing that stuck with me was the "Fast Forward" Fast he spoke about. I've never fasted before & I really just felt like God was speaking to me to find out more information about it & go through with it, so I did. I wrote Pastor AD via Facebook, expressed my interest in the Fast to him, & asked him to send me a packet. I'm so thankful he responded & sent me the packet last night. I told 2 really Great, TRUE friends about my decision to Fast & they decided to do it with me. I'm beyond thankful for them! I'm really trying to Fast Forward for my Future, Finances, Family & Friends.

FAST FORWARD 2013! The Sole Purpose and reasoning I've decided to do this is not only for my future, finances, family, & friends, but it's because I was truly inspired by Pastor Mike McClure Jr at the Rock Church here in Birmingham, Al on Watch Night, bringing 2013 in. 1 of the first things he said that has stuck with me was "If You Don't Do Anything In 2013, Spend Some Time With God".
This my new office/Quiet Time space at my apartment lol.

It's Not Over (When God Is in It) feat. James Fortune & Jason Nelson

I Hope This Song Inspires & Encourages You Like It Do Me Every Time I Listen To It
It's Not Over
It's Not Finished
It's Not Ending
It's Only The Beginning
When God Is In It
All Things All New
Verse 1
I Know It's Darkest, Just Before Dawn
This Might Be The Hardest Season You've Experienced
You're Closer Than You Think You Are
You'r Closer Than You Been Before

One of My Favorite Verses!

Endure Your Race!

My Devotion the other morning stated:
We all get frustrated and lose our drive for perseverance which ultimately affects our race. How is it that we lose our endurance? It's when we take our eyes off of Christ and start focusing on our own circumstances that we begin to slow down. When it comes to running, the key to keeping up endurance is PACING ourselves with Christ.
Endurance: the ability or strength to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions
I thought this hit right at home with me. I'm human just like you are. I do get discouraged & worry sometimes. I do get down on myself at times when things don't go as I planned they would, BUT & this is a Huge BUT; quickly conviction takes place because I'm reminded that everything happens according to God's plan & he only wants the best for me (Jeremiah 29:11).

I think it's very important we remind ourselves of the Big picture when we do get caught up in our own circumstances, whatever they might be. The Big picture is that God wants us to Endure for him. He wants to see our faith in him grow especially when things aren't going well for us. The next time you find yourself struggling with something or just going through something tough, remind yourself of the Big Picture. Remember things could always be a lot worse than they really are. I challenge you just as I've done myself, to Endure Your Race! Keep God 1st! Grind For your Relationship with God. Endure now so you can reap his blessings later!
